Some people quarrel with the notion that "Loud Pipes Save Lives".  The truth is, while they may not save many, they probably provide something that a horn alone cannot do, and that could save a life or two.

For instance, once in awhile (not often) a traffic situation may develop where

So we're barrelling down Hwy 13 today at about a buck twenty, when I decide to have a smoke (the Road Glide has a cigarette lighter). But this means I'll have to take the cellophane wrapping off a new pack first. No problem, as teeth grip the ribboning tab and, with a rolling motion of my hand, the right half of the cellophane comes off, released into the wind. Now to remove the left half of the cellophane...

It's about time!  Like (I hear) has been the case in many parts, the coming of Spring was really delayed this year, but I'm finally riding the Road Glide again.

It's a fantastic bike still (11 years old and about the turn the odometer to 00000 for the second time).  And this year it should be even better than previous ones, the way it's looking.  I thought I would post something on the subject of older bike maladies, since there are probably others whose bikes become a bit irritating as they get more miles.  They start to get their own, unique sets of problems that owners of younger bikes never see.

The website now has a “Bonus” section.

It appears on the menu, right next to “Blog”. This new section contains less-than-public versions of certain ride reports, photos and videos. It also permits you to upload files of your own to share.

Welcome to my wife's and my blog. As those who have visited before surely noticed, the website has been significantly changed recently. This blog is part of that new look and functionality.

From the start, my guiding approach to this site has been to focus on providing entertaining and useful content. Even though I am a computer programmer by trade, I felt that my free time would be better spent on writing stories and providing technical information. Sometime in the future I planned to spend some time to make things a little more snazzy. Well, that day has finally arrived.

In addition to the improved navigability and professional appearance, I have decided to start adding new features and a blog was at the top of the list.

Periodically I will endeavour to add new subjects to this blog and will be happy to consider your responses for inclusion. You do not have to log on or provide personal information to participate but, because no verification will be asked for, any submissions made will have to pass by me first before appearing in the blog.

So let's see how this goes... Costs nothing to try!
